School support staff

At school, you can count on approachable, trained staff to support you such as education support technicians, psychoeducators, social workers, and psychologists. They’re here for you, their doors are always open, and they have the tools to help you overcome the challenges you face.

Teachers and other trusted adults

Teachers are there to help you learn, but also to support you when you are going through something difficult. They can guide you to the right people and help you get the support you need. Other staff members — such as supervisors, librarians, or administrative staff — can also be trusted adults. Don’t hesitate to talk to them. They are there to help you feel safe at school.

The school police officer

If you are experiencing bullying or cyberbullying, you can talk to your school police officer. They are there to help you and explain what is allowed — and what is not — under the law. They work with school staff to stop problematic situations and prevent them from happening again. You can contact them through a school staff member, whether you want to ask questions, get advice, or talk about what’s bothering you. Meeting with them does not commit you to anything, and discussions remain confidential.

Your parents can support you

Your parents or another trusted adult in your life can be a strong source of support. They can help you talk to the school and guide you through the steps to get help. Don’t hesitate to share how you feel — they are there to listen and support you.
